Inter Miami have mutually parted ways with defender Jairo Quinteros with his contract termination effective immediately.
The Bolivia international originally signed for the Herons from La Liga giants Valencia ahead of their 2020 expansion season before spending two years on loan at Club Bolivar in his homeland.
Yael Averbuch West hosted none other than Christian Fuchs for the latest episode of Football Americana. The Charlotte FC captain provided insight into the creation of Major League Soccer’s newest expansion team, and bringing European culture into the American side.
Quinteros returned to Fort Lauderdale for the 2022 MLS season but managed just four appearances, two of which were starts. His final competitive outing for Inter Miami ended in disaster, with Quinteros receiving two yellow cards in a 2-0 defeat away to the New England Revolution in late April – his only appearance for the club after that was a late cameo in the 6-0 friendly thrashing against FC Barcelona.
“We would like to thank Jairo for his time as an Inter Miami player and wish him well in the next step of his career,” Inter Miami chief soccer officer and sporting director Chris Henderson said in a club press release.
Quinteros departs Miami with Phil Neville’s side seventh in the Eastern Conference and just above the Playoff line, though they’re one of four teams locked on 33 points.
Up next is a home clash with Toronto FC on Saturday.
